Welcome to the Amateur Traveler. I'm your host Chris Christensen. I have two

internet stories for you today and the first one you've probably heard about it's

gotten a lot of press. A woman has sued Google over giving her bad walking directions that ended up with

her walking down a US highway in the dark, in the road, and getting hit by a car.

I don't know how the courts will decide this, but when you get directions, please please, please use some common sense.

And then some sad news today for travelers the inventor of the cash machine

John Shepard Barron died he lived to 84 and I say sad news for travelers some of you are too

young to remember.

There used to be a time we would take things called traveler's checks.

Instead of just going and getting money out whenever we wanted to from the local ATM. I've done that at least on four continents

I think and it really is an easy thing to do. So we salute you Mr. John Shepard Baron.
