I'm going to skip the news segment of this particular show because I'm recording two shows back to back because of a

trip that I'm doing to New York and Boston.

So instead of the usual news that we would find here, we're going to jump right in to today's interview.

Now, we debated a little saying whether you're for Baton Rouge.

You're a student in Baton Rouge and originally from Florida.

And that actually is also the connection as I understand to the

Pharaoh Islands with what led you to the Pharaoh Islands.

That's right. The Pharaoh Islands is one of the two field sites that I'm using for my dissertation

research.

And what is your dissertation on?

I'm looking at local food production on small islands.
