It's another big day of news, ladies and gentlemen, as Boris Johnson prepares to set out his stall for the New Britain that he wants to see emerging

from the COVID lockdown and unhindered by the ties that used to bind us to the European Union.

In this very show, the Prime Minister will unveil Global Britain in a competitive age,

a hundred-page page document on defence, security and foreign policy that will

describe China as the biggest threat to our nation's prosperity, while at the same time describing

how he wants closer trade relations and more investment from the same country. I'm not quite

sure how you square that circle. We'll try and figure that out in the coming hours. As if that

wasn't enough, there's a vote later on as well in the House of Commons on the new policing bill,

which is seeking tougher sentencing for sex offences, but also stronger powers for the police

to clamp down on acts of what they call annoyance, murders, demonstrations, protest camps as well.
