Summary

Can you keep a buy-to-let mortgage forever? And is a landlord required to install an EV charger? Your questions answered on this week’s episode of Ask Rob & Rob. (00:45) Amit is worried that as he gets older, lenders will eventually refuse to mortgage his buy-to-lets. Rob B reassures him that this fear is largely overblown, explaining what you really need to watch out for when taking equity out over the long term. (03:56) Sue wants to know if she’s obliged to pay for an EV charger that a tenant is requesting? Rob D lays out exactly where she stands. Enjoy the show? Hi, I'm Rob. And I'm Rob. And this is Ask Rob and Rob.

Hey everyone, it's Ask Rob and Rob, the show where you get your questions in, predominantly

0:11.1

property related. Sometimes you go a little off piece, but we don't mind that. And we do our

0:16.2

very, very best to give you a good answer in return. We've done this over 500 times now, so we're well versed,

0:23.1

but luckily you always have a lot of questions and we'll guide you now to the place you can go

0:28.4

to ask some more. Yep, it's just one destination, property hub.net slash ask. If you go there,

0:34.4

you can leave us a question in written form for our Sunday Times column or you can get yourself on the show and be the envy of all your friends by leaving us a voice note.

Hi, Rob and Rob. It's Amit here from London. Just wanted to say a big thank you for all your

content and podcast. It's actually motivated me to start my own Bainterlet company

0:55.8

for property investing. I'm actually buying a property via property hub invest in another three

1:01.3

elsewhere in the north. The question I had was before I set up the Bitellet company, I had two

1:09.1

properties in my own name. These are on our interest-only basis, and every

1:14.4

five years I look to take equity out of them if I can. The question I had was that at some point,

1:21.0

the lenders are going to look at my age, and they won't be able to lend on the property anymore,

1:26.2

I'm assuming. So what would be the strategy for managing that?

1:30.6

Would that be simply to sell the properties or is there any other way around it?

1:36.0

Thank you very much in advance for the answer.

1:39.4

Abbott, thank you for your question.

1:43.1

And you know what?

1:43.6

This is a question that I've often been asked.

1:46.9

And I understand why, right?
