Okay, the question I got today in the Ask Sean edition, Sean, what is the one thing of all the things you did?

What do you attribute your success to? All right, I don't know how long this podcast is going to be because I only get to give you one thing.

But I do think it's a great question. And the one thing I did more so than anything is I bet on myself and I'm going to explain that.

So, you know, coming out of college, I could have taken a very base level entry level job for the degree that I had.

And I wanted to work for at the time was a top 20 organization. I'm not going to get all the details of that, but extremely prestigious.

I wanted to skip all the wrongs on the ladder. Well, how do you do that? Yeah, I have a base level degree.

I called and offered to work for free for 90 days.

So, I was going to take the money that I had from graduation, which is what I did and showed up.

And the one thing I think I did that was smart is when I first got there, the CEO of the organization took me out to dinner and I said to that person.

What is it that will impress you? What do I need to do for you to say I want you to work here and for you to pay me?

He told me what that is and I delivered on that times 10.

Okay, so betting on me, betting on me when I started my first, you know, large scale company.

I bet on me with every client, whatever client that said, noted me, I would say to them, you're going to regret that.

I'm telling you, I'm going to put your competitor. It was a direct mail magazine. I'm going to put your competitor in this magazine.

And because it's exclusive, you're never going to get another chance to get back in here because they're never going to get their spot back up because it's going to do so well.

And, you know, everybody went in and that's why the magazine grew to, you know, 21 cities.

I bought a person out of their company and asked them the next day to come join my company. How audacious is that?

Here, I'm going to buy you out of your company, bought out 24 hours later, I go back to that person and talk them out of moving away and joining me on my mission.

I'm betting on myself. Join me because something exciting is getting ready to happen.

Constantly, constantly betting on myself.

You know, and I think if I could give you, you know, that one piece of advice that you want to make money, I understand it, but there are times when you need to work for free.
