So I'm just going to go ahead and read it to you guys. It was a specific situation. So it says,

my in-laws can be very manipulative and are constantly speaking into our lives and telling us how to

parent, even when we don't ask for their advice. It's very troubling and it makes it really hard to be around them.

Am I supposed to say something to them or should my husband have to?

I'm sure this listener is not the only one out there who is dealing with this today. Dr. Kim,

do you deal with this a lot in the counseling room when it comes to the in-law situation affecting

people's marriages? Yes. I mean, not all the time, not every couple, but certainly the couples,

where I see it a lot is young couples who are, you know, maybe younger than some other ones and especially

this issue of just about parenting. I see that a lot. The kid comes along. And so the

mother-in-law or father-in-law, seems like it's mother-in-laws more than father-in-law. It's not

stereotype, but it just seems like that's what happens. In fact, I was talking to a couple about this last week.

And what she was telling me is, yeah, her mother-in-law and everything she says, it's like,

this is what you're supposed to do.

And she didn't really say it that, but it's just kind of like, that's the way it's kind
