Thanks for listening. Today on Apps, Dr. Kim, we're going to be answering the question of,

I hate my husband's friends. What do I do about it? I've actually seen this a lot in a lot of different couples where one of those spouses

really, really, really dislikes their spouse's friends.

So I don't know.

What are your thoughts, Dr. Hamm?

It's a tough question.

But I do think it happens a lot, especially, well, I don't know.

I was going to say when you get married younger,

I'm not sure that's entirely true. I think it can happen probably just about any age.

One, I think, if you're the wife in the situation, first it's how you approach your husband.

If you just start nagging and complaining, he's going to get kind of a deaf ear to you, I think.

It becomes a conflict situation. If you could really sit down

and say, hey, can we talk about this and really list your concerns? And they need to be legitimate.

You know, if the guy, if you don't like a friend just because he wears his hair funny or he's got

his tat, you know, that may not be a reason for him not to be a friend. So really, if you have some concerns, talk to your

husband out those concerns. As a husband, I think you want to very much listen to your wife.

We got married and Nancy had been around my set of, we had four guys that were great friends

from high school all the way through and they loved Nancy and everything,

but we were the first ones to get married.

You know, and they'd show up at 10 o'clock at night to watch TV with a six-pack of beer.
