Hey y'all, I'm Karen Griegsby-Bates and this is Coatswitch from MPR.

It's Thanksgiving Week and I'm getting ready to host a small group at my house,

so I'm grateful for that because last year in the pandemic dark times, we couldn't.

But this year a few friends are coming and as wonderful as that is, it means I have to check on

everybody's dietary restrictions, their likes and dislikes before I start all that cooking.

You know there's going to be so many conflicting tastes.

One person has to have green beans, somebody else makes gagging noises when you even mention them.

There will be two kinds of dressing. Yes, dressing. I don't stuff the turkey with it. I cook it

outside the bird and that might be my favorite part of the meal.

That's me, but I'm bidding you have your own favorites and that's the lovely thing about

the holiday table. It means so much to so many people, no matter your race, your age, your ethnicity,

your geographic location. So yeah, there's nothing like the holidays for a jump-starting

with conversation around eating. Okay and sometimes the arguments around eating do not get us

started about pumpkin versus sweet potato pie. And today we're bringing a second helping of one of

our favorite ass code switches where we tackle some of your questions about food. Think of this

episode like that second Thanksgiving plate. You go back to enjoy a few hours after you swore you

could not fit in another bite. There's always room for more code switch, right? So to start out,

we're diving back into a discussion I had with Jean Demby. He's out on parental leave by the way

in case you missed it and let's hope Baby Demby is not as picky as his daddy. That discussion was

about one of Jean's very strongly held food opinions. Alright so before we get into this episode,
