Welcome to the podcast is dedicated to making you a faster cyclist the ask a cycling coach podcast. I'm coach Jonathan Lee and with me as always is coach Chad Timmerman everybody and our CEO Nate Pearson. Hello back from the UK. Yeah, you forgot to say presented by trainer.

0:15.0

I'm a trainer representative I train a road for the most important part exactly and that's where we're from that's where we're at right now so Nate's fresh off the probably super jet lag still Nate. Yeah, I was up at four and you had plans to bring power tap pedals and do structured workouts while you were in London on a business trip.

0:33.0

And I did. Yeah, so I did. I brought the P1 power tap pedals and I went to my hotel had a gym in it and actual had spin bikes. They're like electronic spin bikes. I brought a pedal wrench and then a set of Allen wrenches and I needed both of those.

0:50.0

Oh, good. I was able to get the pedals off and it was the same size pedals that you know you know you know I don't know what the same pedal wrench was very useful because there was rust on the pedals people would sweat in there and they never take those things off.

So I got the bike and I got it all set up that the P1s are Bluetooth. So I just use my iPhone and the one thing that was annoying though is the saddle.

1:14.0

You couldn't just a saddle with Allen wrenches on the spin bike. You had to use like a wrench that didn't have one and they had two of those and they were both kind of slightly slanted forward. So you were just pushing forward the whole time and I did a.

1:27.0

I only did two workouts. I was there for like eight days or something two workouts and then it's a lot of negative training.

1:35.0

So I'll just leave it at that. I'll say a lot of drinking it's like a it was like a business kind of group thing where you do learning but there's a lot of cool social events too. Yeah.

1:45.0

And there was one club where these guys a lot of these guys are have really big businesses and they got a six liter bottle of vodka.

1:55.0

I didn't even know they made it in six liters. Yeah, it's like a small child.

1:59.0

Small child of vodka.

2:01.0

But so I was hoping to like kind of skip all these parties and just go to the learning stuff and do like a workout a day. I did lift weight something because I was a

2:11.0

lot easier but that's part of the experience though. I know that's always like I'm in London. What am I going to be able to do this crazy stuff and some of the guys there.

2:19.0

You know, there's in this group. There's some billionaires and stuff and some of the guys go really all out. So I was like, I gotta get passed that up. Yeah. Yeah.

2:27.0

But now my FTP is probably 180 or something. Hopefully not that was not kind of my body. Well, I have a workout today. We'll see how it goes sweet. So but anyways, the travel with the P1's really cool. It was really to get on awesome.

2:40.0

And pedal wrench is that does make sense because it'd be way harder to break them off with an Allen key.

2:45.0

Even if it did have an Allen hole because that pedal wrench is going to be way more leverage in the Allen key size was different on my P1's and there was on the actual pedals.

2:54.0

So if I would have brought just one, I would have been I could have been S. Yeah, I didn't have the pedal wrench to it. It's probably safest to bring a multi tool that would have various different.

3:04.0

Yeah, I'm key sizes in the pedal wrench. I bought a park school set and they're kind of long and I like them being long so I can get leverage. Yeah.

3:09.0

And one thing that a lot of people do, by the way, when they tighten up those pedals and when you tighten up your P1's and everything else, you don't need to tighten up your pedals a whole lot because you're going to naturally tighten those up if anything when you're pedaling.

3:21.0

So all you have to do is get them to where it stops and then just give it a little push just snug it up just to get I snuck it up that I also had them pre greased.

3:28.0

I wanted I didn't want my P1's to stay there. Yeah. Yeah.
