I can remember loving to dress up as a kid and dressing my cats up, you know, but my first actual

cosplay costume was about 1999. That's the first time I can actually remember making a dedicated,

you know, game and anime costume.

My name is Kelly and I'm a cost player I've been a

gamer for life and will be a gamer for life. I like to make costumes so I've got

oh at least 25 costumes I've have so many costumes I've had to get a storage unit to put them all in.

Japanese animation and culture comes to life in Vancouver this weekend.

It's the annual Kamoricon Convention.

Participants dress up and celebrate anime at the Vancouver Hilton.

It features panels, workshops, and contests for fans, but mainly it's a place for people to

let loose and actually become a cartoon character.

I'd been to the convention a lot in the past and I decided, wow, this is a place where everyone can dress up.

You know, my first anime con, I was like, wow, why am I not dressed up?

And now I don't think there's a single convention that I've gone to that I haven't been dressed

up since.

Yeah!

A Ruh! dressed up since. Some of the costumes I've done are Maria Renard from

California, Dracula, X, Bakura from Carcaptor Sakura, Heroin from Sword Sword of Manor, I love that costume.

She had such proofy beautiful hair.

I've also done Eda Wong from Resident Evil Four.

The long maroon dress goes down to the floor

and it has a slit up the side, so you know, she would show up. long at me because they're like you can't hold a machine gun like that I'm like yeah
