Welcome back in America to the National Security Hour for 28 May, 26 with host Fred Galvin. And now it's time

to get it on. Good evening. We want to talk about defense acquisitions. And I know many of you

listeners are retired military or served in the military.

Many of them, many of you know a little bit about my background, which you're probably thinking,

say it isn't so. Say that Fred Galvin has not jumped on board with the big military industrial complex

and gotten on their payroll.

And the news is that I have not done that,

and I'm not ever thinking about doing that.

But what we do need to think about tonight is how important our American national security is to global security,

and that if the United States is not able to continue to maintain the technological edge with weapons in comparison to our rivals, then we will, as one instructor told me when I was an instructor at the Marines version of Top Gun, he said, Fred, you need to embrace technology or you'll be

destroyed by it. And that's exactly what will happen to us if we do not get on board with what the

future requires. And by that, I mean, we have a acquisition program and process in the United States that is so outdated,

bureaucratic, and slow, and bloated that it is giving the advantage to our rivals.

Usually, you think of communistic programs that are very slow, methodical, they cannot deliver things on time.

And that has changed here in the 21st century.

It's changing at a rapid pace right now that one of the things we need to focus on is what Secretary of War Hegeseth is saying as far as rapidly delivering high-tech advanced

weapon systems that can give us the advantage for the future, but we need these weapon systems

right now.

That is what the question is that we have to be able to answer. That's critical to deter a World War III, and if it

escalates from a crisis into a conflict on a world war scale to swiftly defeat our rivals and that is a very sophisticated
