Summary

In this episode we look back on the 2-0 FA Cup third round defeat to Liverpool. We analyse a first half in which Arsenal played well and did a lot right, but failed to make the most of the chances they created. It's a familiar theme, and one which came back to haunt us as late goals from the Mugsmashers condemned us to an FA Cup exit at a frustratingly early stage again. We chat about how Arsenal didn't make the most of the first half, examine the chances we could have done better with, before a much more even second half. There's discussion of substitutes and the timing of their arrivals, the goals we conceded, and the big problem that's so obvious to everyone – but is 'Buy a striker?' too simplistic a solution in January? Then we have questions about Emile Smith Rowe, defending set-pieces, xG variation, Eddie Nketiah and lots more.

days you know when we're never gonna score a goal again is that the amount of days

until the end of the year or the amount of shots we've taken without scoring in the last couple of home games.

Oh man, man, man, man, man.

Tricky one, isn't it? I feel really frustrated today about this.

I will even, I'll caveat this podcast by saying,

I feel so frustrated that I reserve the rights to divorce myself of some of these opinions

within a couple of weeks when I've calmed down.

When I've had my warm winter training break in Dubai, you know, where we go away and practice our

podcasting. We're doing that are we? Yeah, in the sunny climb. All right,

at the Middle East. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.

1:20.8

We're doing. All right, good. So everyone's doing this time of year.

1:23.0

I think so.

1:24.0

But when I come back from that I'll feel refreshed and the frustration will be gone, you know?

1:29.0

Well, at least we can finish a podcast.

1:31.0

That's true. That's true. We finish it in exemplary fashion every week. We're consistent with our

finishing. This is very very true. That's it. Yeah. I saw Tim just published an article on Ars blog news. It popped up on the Ars blog

app notifications that I have. And the headline of the article is coming up clutch
