Hello, everyone and welcome to police off the cuff, real crime stories.

I'm your host, retired NYPD, Sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD.

You know, miss a couple of days of the national news cycle,

and you're bound to miss a big story.

And of course, this was such a big story,

and it was such a tragic story.

I'll put the thumbnail up on the screen.

And of course, we recognize mother of five, Rachel Marin,

Maryland mother of five. And there was an arrest in her murder, which occurred over a year ago,

approximately a year ago. And the complexities of these crime scenes and why it's so important to have pristine

crime scenes and to process evidence correctly, because you never know what is going

to identify a perpetrator.

And in this day of scientific evidence, specifically DNA,

it's so important to consider everything as a potential piece of DNA evidence.

And the interesting thing about this case, of course,

we all remember this little picture here on the screen of who now turns out to be the perpetrator in this case.

So he's got one of those multiple, multiple names.
