fellow gardener just like you and today we're talking about Army Worms. They've got a

gnarly name and for good reason. So if you've ever watched a row of

plants just get demolished by army worms, you will understand how they get their name.

These things can just devour entire plants, then move on to the next one,

munch down on that one, and then move on to the next one. So what exactly is an army worm?

Are there different kinds? What do they eat? So what exactly is an army worm.

Are there different kinds?

What do they eat?

How long do they last?

And then most importantly, what we all care about

is how do you get rid of army worms?

So that's what we're talking about in today's episode.

Now, there are many different types of army worms.

There are seven that are extremely popular

and you're going to run through those really quickly

and then we're going to get to how to prevent, kill, and

destroy them. The first, Mythmana unipuncta, which I probably butchered, the common army worm.

So this has a grayish- or grayish brown color and it has long dark stripes along its side.

Again, it's going to turn into a moth and it's common in many many parts of the world. North

Central South America, Southern Europe, Central Africa, Western Asia, etc. Next

you've got the Northern Army worm or the rice ear cutting caterpillar.
