That's a great day to be here and a kind of a good day for Shift podcast and the Shift magazine because...

Well, today we are coming out with our latest issue of Shift the magazine and we are going all into

the issue of self-driving cars.

So it's a really exciting time for us.

Yeah, it's a good issue if you can catch a copy because we are

looking back at some of these seminal moments in the history of self-driving

technology, specifically the start of the Google self-driving car project,

which was roughly 10 years ago this month, and also looking back at the DARPA challenges,

which played a formative role in the start of this push that we are now in to commercialize autonomous technology.

Yes, and that Google Self- Driving Project, as you might remember,

started as a result of the DARPA challenges.

And Google started that self-driving project in secret

using some of the people that have been on the winning teams and the

the finalists teams from the Darper Urban Challenge which was held in 2007 and some of the

other Darpa challenges as well.
