This is episode 1097 of the Arete Coach Podcast with Severin Sorensen and his guest Virginia Knudsen, Executive Coach and CEO and Founder of BOAR.
Virginia Knudsen is the CEO and Founder of BOAR, a “courageous community” which creates “personal and professional greatness.” At BOAR Virginia helps executives and business owners “seize opportunities and fulfill their potential.” Through her CEO Mastermind groups and executive coaching, she helps business leaders develop their skills, “live courageously”, inspire others, “be role models”, and connect with and learn from other business leaders. Virginia uses her unique skill set from her experience in roles such as CEO, Entrepreneur, EVP/COO, Former Vistage Chair (7 yr) and Vistage Member (7.5 yr), and Executive Coach to best assist her clients and group members. Before her consulting and coaching, Virginia was the SVP and Region Manager of First National Bank of Nevada, SVP of Nevada State Bank, and EVP and COO of Bank of George. She obtained her Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership from Regis University and was awarded the “Women of Distinction Award- Glass Ceiling” by the National Association of Women Business Owners in 2009. In 2021, Virginia also became a certified Fierce Facilitator.
In the podcast, we explore Virginia's journey into executive coaching, lessons in life and some lessons learned through hardship as a young mother, then working at Wells Fargo to provide for her family, and how she was quickly identified as a high potential and earned her way up the ranks in banking. We learn of her journey into coaching and her passion for helping others. We learn of several powerful questions she has asked to her coaching clients. We hear about her early exploration of learning and self at Landmark, and how that created a desire to learn more and share more with others.
