Summary

As your host and self-proclaimed BFF, I wear many hats. Doctor, lawyer, therapist...but today I am your all-powerful judge and I'm ready to throw down if you are, in fact, behaving like an asshole. (Spoiler: I'm spicy today, and the answer is mostly yes.) I'm sorry in advance for the fights I'm about to cause. Love me anyway.

Welcome to the Bad Broadcast. I'm your host, Maddie Murphy.

0:20.8

Hi everybody. Whoa, that was a little bit loud. Hi everybody. Welcome back to a new episode

0:26.0

of the Bad Broadcast. My name is Maddie. I am your host and best friend and today I am your

0:32.8

almighty judge because today's episode is all about one of my favorite submissions which is

0:37.6

Am I the asshole? And we're going to get to that in a moment. But we have a really pressing topic

0:44.3

that we need to talk about immediately and that's Fleabag. I know. I know. I'm like two years late

0:51.5

to watching Fleabag. I don't know why I put it off. I knew that I would enjoy it. Sometimes I do

0:56.1

that. You know when you know that you're going to be so obsessed with something that sometimes you

1:02.1

avoid consuming it because you don't want to dwell on it for too long. It's going to take up too

1:06.6

much of your life. Well, I have a lot of free time these days. So I was able to appropriately consume

1:13.0

Fleabag. And by the way, you should just skip ahead if you haven't watched it, but you might.

1:19.7

I'm going to say spoilers and you probably won't like it. So skip ahead like a minute. I want to talk

1:26.8

about one very important aspect of Fleabag that I did not know happened until I watched the show.

1:35.0

And it happens at the very end. It's the very last scene. We all know the scene when they're sitting

1:39.7

at the bus stop and she tells the priest that she loves him and he says it'll pass. And then he gets

1:45.9

up and he starts to walk away. None of you told me that he turns around and he says he loves her too.

1:54.2

Why does everybody leave that part out? Like to me, that felt like closure. I don't know. Everybody

2:02.1

like clips this scene of Fleabag saying, I love you. Him saying it'll pass. And it's like devastating.

2:09.0

But then nobody talks about the fact that when he's walking away, he says I love you too. I don't

2:13.6

know. I just I felt much more satisfied with that ending. I thought it was going to end after

2:19.4

he said it'll pass. Like I had no idea that he also said that he loved her too. So I don't know.
