Solomon closes the book of Ecclesiastes with these words. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter.

with it? Life. It's not a game. And in this journey through the book of Ecclesiastes,

But usually, let me testify, I'm preaching and teaching on things that the Lord is working on me about. I'm not speaking on a subject because I think I'm the authority on it. Our

authorities in the Word of God, I very often am studying through a passage, studying on a subject,

because God by his spirit is teaching me something, and I'm just passing

it along. I figure if God speaks to me about it, it probably will be good for others as well.

And if God is speaking to me about it, it's fresh in my own heart so I can share it.

So when you teach and preach the Bible, you find that you really are the first audience.

The Holy Spirit is bringing conviction and instruction to your own heart. I say that because

today we're dealing with a subject that brings tremendous conviction, at least it should,

to all of our hearts. We're dealing with a subject of pride. It's every man's sin.

In a sense, it's at the root of every sin. Satan is evidence of that. But we all battle with it,

and we battle with it all of our life. We learn in scripture that we deal with the lust of the flesh,

the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

You ever wonder why it's called the pride of life?

Because if you're living, you're battling.

And every day you have to deal with your pride and you have to deal with others' pride.

Pride wells up in every human heart.
