| 0:14.0 | So, my question today is, are you getting enough sulfur in your diet? |
| 0:19.0 | And what is sulfur and what is it good for? |
| 0:21.0 | And how would this apply to your health? |
| 0:23.0 | Well, sulfur is really, really important in several aspects. |
| 0:26.0 | Number one, it's needed to make two very important amino acids. |
| 0:32.0 | Okay, one's called methionine, and the other one is called cystine. |
| 0:36.0 | Now, methionine is an essential amino acid, which means you must get it from your diet. |
| 0:40.0 | Your body cannot make it. |
| 0:42.0 | Yet, cystine can be made from your body. |
| 0:45.0 | But you need sulfur to make both of these amino acids. |
| 0:48.0 | And sulfur is also very important in making the antioxidant glutathione, |
| 0:54.0 | which has a very important function in detoxification, especially in your liver, |
| 0:59.0 | for many different things. |
| 1:01.0 | In fact, if you're a deficient in glutathione, you're going to build up too much hydrogen peroxide, |
| 1:06.0 | and that can actually lead to a whole bunch of things. |
| 1:09.0 | One being your hair becomes prematurely gray, |
| 1:12.0 | and you're just going to have a hard time clearing toxins from the body. |
| 1:17.0 | Sulfur is very necessary making keratin, which is essential for your hair, nails, and skin. |
