0:10.6	I'm Patrick Miller. Do you see yourself as a host? Would people describe you as
0:16.5	hospitable? Do you have a practice of inviting people into your home, welcoming them in,
0:21.3	feeding them? I don't know if I get answered yes to any of those
0:24.8	questions myself, but if you were asking about my wife the answer would be easy.
0:29.7	Yes, absolutely. We joke that she's the social chair of our marriage
0:33.9	because she's always the one who's asking,
0:35.6	who can we have over, who can we feed, who can we welcome.
0:38.8	That means that on most weeks,
0:40.2	we have people over several nights throughout the week. if I can be honest that's not always easy I mean we both work full-time jobs
0:47.2	We've got kids in school and in activities so cleaning up the house and making food, it can get stressful.
0:53.4	And that's just a nothing of the fact that hosting is expensive,
0:57.0	especially with food inflation.
0:58.7	But I've really grown to love my wife's seriousness about hosting. Every time she invites someone over I see a small
1:05.9	reflection of the God I love in the heart of the woman that I love, because God's a host and he wants
1:11.7	his followers to be hosts as well.
1:14.3	God seeks out the lost, the sick, the hurting, and invites them into his family.
1:19.6	And he does that, more often than not, through people like you and me.
1:24.1	In Matthew 9, we read the story of Matthew's Calling.
1:27.4	Despite being the author of this gospel, Matthew is absent for the first eight chapters, but in chapter 9, Jesus meets him,
1:34.5	and this interesting story unfolds.
