If you're a woman in your 20s or 30s, there is one word you never want to hear from your friends and family.

And that word is registry because you always click on it and you are always horrified at how expensive some of these stupid items are that your friends and your family need because they decided to get married and they decided

to have a baby and so this weekend i'm going to what i believe might be my first baby shower

at least my first baby shower was someone who's in my generation so it feels more of like a big deal

because i'm like oh so when my age is procreating that's weird and it was planned. I was like, you guys wanted this?

So anyway, it's my cousin.

She's having her baby.

She's the one that got married last year.

We're very excited the baby's due in September.

It's a girl.

They're naming her L.

We've done all the things.

We're very excited with the gender reveal.

And now it's time to actually get ready for the baby to come. So I'm flying down to Tampa this weekend.

And of course, before you go to a baby shower, you don't want to show up empty handed. You want to get something on the registry. And me, being a good cousin, wanting to spoil my first

niece. I don't even know what you would call it. This baby that my cousin is happening to have,

like whoever, whatever the title is for that, my first of that.

It's not your niece, because that would be only your brother's kids.

I think it's my second cousin.

Yeah.

I think that's what it is, but that doesn't feel right.
