Portions of the Bible include shocking stories of espionage.

In fact, sometimes were quite surprised by the raw and gritty plots that sound more like Hollywood than Hebrew history.

Today, on Insight for Living, Chuck Swindall shows us one of those surprising stories.

It's found in Joshua 2.

Rahab, a prostitute, harbored two Hebrew spies.

Her complicated secret creates a moral dilemma that seems impossible to untangle.

More than once our Father, we have heard, be not afraid.

Fear not.

So many things happen in life that are unexpected and often, at least from our perspective,

threatening, making us uneasy,

leaving us in a bit of a quandary wondering how we should respond, what we should do.

It's easy to forget in those occasions that none of that is a surprise to you,

because you know the end from the beginning you're able to say, don't be afraid.

Fear not.

And so today, our Father, we pray that we might have that shalom, shalom, deep within.

No matter what may be our circumstances, no matter what we may be facing,

or think we may be facing, or have no idea what it may be.
