| 1:45.5 | less than 10 years after the First Amendment was enacted. It was supported by |
| 1:49.4 | George Washington, Alexander Hamilton and John Adams. It was opposed by Thomas |
| 1:56.2 | Jefferson. It was opposed by Madison and when Jefferson became president it |
