Summary

The Lakers' preseason is officially in the books after a 116-112 loss to the Sacramento Kings, the sixth loss in as many tries before the real games begin. (ALL HAIL 0-6!!!) But that last go-around wasn't entirely negative. To begin, this was arguably the best individual game each for LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook, and without question their best as a trio. For that matter, DeAndre Jordan (in by far his best showing as a Laker), Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, and Austin Reaves all enjoyed some nice moments. On balance, it was the best the Lakers have looked, period. That said, as one might expect after a loss, it also wasn't all peaches and cream, especially on the defensive end, where the Lakers remain somewhere between "inconsistent" and "a flat out mess." Plus, the health of several important players is still unknown, and the already low continuity from last year has been exacerbated. So what are the Kamenetzkys' big takeaways from the preseason, and how ready do they think the team is for the regular season to kick off next week? They discuss. Plus, praise for Reaves, and a PSA of sorts about Jordan. Hosts: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: A recap of the final preseason game, and in particular, Westbrook's night and progress with the Lakers. SEGMENT 2: How ready do the Lakers seem for the season to begin? SEGMENT 3: A plea to stop complaining about Jordan every second he's on the court. Plus, can Reaves actually hang in an NBA rotation? You said on Tuesday show that you much preferred an 0-6 preseason than some sort of wimpy

1:16.2

you know, limp one in five kind of thing. And the Lakers and Frank Vogel apparently agree

1:23.8

with you. Yeah. Frank Vogel, like in the last four or five minutes of the game, he actually

1:29.0

in this, this game was tight. He had absolutely had a chance to at the very least play

1:35.1

LeBron, play Davis and Westberg. I think LeBron had taken his shoes off at that point. But

1:39.8

like you could have played some starters down the stretch of this game. No, no, no, no,

1:45.9

no, no. That point it was Austin Reeves, you know, obviously one of the core members of

this team, but then like traveling queen and a bunch of guys that may or may not end up

1:55.3

on the roster or who knows what their G league futures are going to be. But Frank Vogel
