But first, speaking about politics, we've had a number of rounds of stimulus

legislation, a potential fourth round coming. These are bipartisan deals given the

configuration in Congress and of political power in Washington.

And it naturally leads to the question of who's getting the better of the deal.

And there's a certain sentiment on the left that the Democrats are getting rolled here.

And I'm coming into this totally blind Ezra. You said you wanted to talk about this,

but I actually have no idea what you think.

It'll be a surprise to us all.

So usually we try to make these things a kind of fake spontaneous.

But this is the real deal. I don't know what's coming.

So I've been reporting on this because I've been getting this question a lot.

And I feel this really catalyzed. And I guess it was stimulus bill 3.5,

where the money for testing and the administration creating a national plan on testing

was described as a win and a concession for Democrats.

Meanwhile, the bill did not include state and local aid.

It did not include all kinds of things that were beyond the baseline things that Democrats wanted.

The Center of Budget and Policy Party said it wasn't enough even as an interim measure.
