In this episode of the Red Nation podcast, I talked to Dr. Eva Jewel, who is a Nishnabeque from Deschkhan, Zibing, or the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation in southwestern Ontario with Hodinoshoni lineage.

Dr. Eva Jewel is an assistant professor of sociology at what is now X University, formerly Ryerson University, as well as operating as the research director of the Yellowhead Institute, a Toronto-based indigenous think tank that does research on critical

indigenous policy related to First Nation, Inuit, and Mayte jurisdiction.

In this episode of the Red Nation podcast, Dr. Jewel and I talk about a variety of issues circulating and stemming from the scam of reconciliation.

Shirt Day in Canada, as well as the newly enshrined by the Canadian federal government National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.

C TV recently talking about the report and I had such a wonderful time

reading it I teach a class called Truth Reconciliation and Settler Colonialism at the University of Toronto and my students read the first report from 2019

this semester and found the conclusion that reconciliation at the current rate of

implementation won't be at the minimum implemented until

two thousand fifty57 to be striking and now the new report suggests that it could potentially

at the rate it's currently being implemented, not fully actualized until I believe 2074,

incredibly striking analysis and research, and so I'm so honored that
