AESC, the Japanese-based but Chinese-owned battery company, opening up a new battery plant in France.

The next Renault that you buy may well have cells that are made inai in France. Those cells are going to be heading

towards cars sometime soon. Mercedes beginning all-electric CLA production. I'm really excited

about this vehicle. High voltage platform, almost 500 miles of range from an 85 kilowatt hour battery.

So efficient. Sounds like amazing engineering they've done.

A single motor version, plenty powerful enough. All-wheel drive version coming soon.

Europe's first megawatt charges are coming to the Ionity network. They're going to use the

Alpertronic H.YC-1,000s with up to four cars attached, or four units attached to a main power cabinet.

So, as no cars can charge at a thousand kilowatts or a megawatt yet, you know, four cars

that each peak at 250 kilowatts could each turn up and still get maximum juice.

That's fantastic.

BYD's megawatt charging is coming to Europe as well, the Vice President Stella Lee, reporting in Brussels that megawatt charging from BYD will head to Europe.

Sometime this year, next year is the timeline on that. BYD vehicles in China, of course, charge really quickly, like heading towards a thousand kilowatts too.

China's EV sales, looking like

they're going to be 1.24 million in May. That's wholesale numbers in May. And so we are heading towards

a really big year of EV sales in China. German car registrations are on the rise and they're

driven by EVs.

The EV surge happened probably too soon to call it a full-scale recovery of the German

EV market, but we can call it tentative after the government removed those subsidies last
