Today we're talking about aquaponics in fact.

In fact, we are doing a basic overview for those of you who don't understand what it is or maybe you have a general idea

but you're just curious about some of the details and maybe you want to try it out

yourself. Today we are going to just give a brief overview of what it is. So we know that

hydroponics is growing plants in a nutrient solution instead of soil.

So the nutrient solution is both the water, the oxygen,

and the nutrition for the plant.

And then we use some sort of growing media

to root that plant in place, so it's not just flopping around in our hydroponic

environment.

So what is aquaponics? Aquaponics is taking that to the next level.

So what you're doing is you are introducing another

organism to create the nutrition instead of using hydroponic nutrients and

the organism you're going to use are fish.

Typically you will use something like tilapia if you're going to do a more

commercial or larger system but there's a bunch of popular systems out there like the
