Kelly Ripa has a new memoir out called Live Wire Long-Wended Short Stories, and she admits

the chapter about Regis was the hardest one for her to write.

He passed away in July of 2020 of a heart attack at 88.

She goes, there were good and bad days.

I don't want to feel like I'm slamming anyone or that I'm being disrespectful, but I also

want people to know it was not a cakewalk.

As she goes, despite any issues I had on set, she very much enjoyed the time I spent

together outside of work, and even when as far as I say, as he came to a dinner, I

hosted.

It's one of my favorite nights of my life.

I never laughed so hard.

So what are you interpreting from that?

What I interpret from that is that I think she's from one generation.

He's from another.

She has one way of thinking when it comes to the workplace, he has another.

I would dare to say he probably had a little more antiquated view, and because he had been

there so long, had a little bit of an ego, justfully so because of what he created, but that

sometimes can get in the way of progression and evolving.

If that was the case, then she caught herself having to fight for a lot, but being on a successful

show, he felt he had a reason to make her fight.
