Because the cops have to be brought to the neighborhood because more violence is taking

place with it understood that the violence is taking place not against white middle-class

people who deserve it. It's not that Omar is grabbing some white lady named Sylvia's

purse. It's Omar killing DeQuan. Omar killing DeQuan's little niece. And so maybe the cops

have to be there more often. The food desert idea is vastly overplayed for the simple

reason that you can find in any state neighborhoods that are depressed and deprived, where whatever

you're going to say about what's going on, there are plenty of supermarkets there. Not

being able to get lettuce is not a great thing. You know, it's something we need to talk

about, but it's not nearly as common as people say. And when lettuce is well available

and for very low prices, you can go buy all the kale you want. Still, you often see some

of the same community ills. I've written that editorial about three times if anybody wants

to look it up, not lately. But the issue is, do all of those things really mean somebody

jumping up and down on top of a car? And I think that we're almost dehumanizing black

people to think that that's the reason for all of that. The question might be, why is

he jumping up and down on top of the car? And is it that in his own neighborhood, he

does that sort of thing as well and worse, which brings the cops in, which makes it inevitable

that some cops aren't going to do the right thing, et cetera. Why in his own neighborhood
