Now, I guess one of the things that we wanted to ask you about here is the fact that, of course,

when we talk of anomalous objects, we use the common term UFO.

You refer to it as unidentified aerial phenomena or UAP, and is there a reason why you prefer to do it that way?

Yes, there is a very important reason and it has to do with the intellectual and emotional

baggage that's been attached to the initials UFO for at least a generation, if not longer,

where people around the world now are very familiar with this

idea of UFO, and most of them have committed themselves to some hypothesis what it is.

I, on the other hand, and I think some of my colleagues, particularly in NARCAP, have not come to any conclusion.

We want to leave the door open, let the evidence speak for itself, and we do not want

to use a pejorative term like UFO.

So since we as an organization rub shoulders and interact with aviation professionals,

commercial and so forth we lose credibility immediately in their eyes if we are associated as a
