0:18.3	four books in 30 days we've worked our way through John Mark, and we are halfway through Matthew.
0:24.0	So I'm going to read three chapters to you today. You can listen or read along in your own Bible.
0:28.0	You can watch on YouTube, however you want, and we will pray at the end, and that's it. So today is day 26 and I'll be reading
0:35.6	Matthew chapters 15 through 17 from the new living translation and we are on page 169 of the Let Through the Gospel's guided journal.
0:49.0	Matthew 15
0:51.0	Some Pharisees and teachers of religious law now arrived from Jerusalem to see Jesus.
0:57.0	They asked him, why do your disciples disobey our age-old tradition?
1:01.4	For they ignore our tradition of ceremonial hand-washing before they eat.
1:05.0	Jesus replied, and why to you by your traditions violate the direct commandments of God?
1:10.0	For instance, God says,
1:12.0	Honor your father and mother,
1:13.0	and anyone who speaks disrespectfully of father or mother
1:16.0	must be put to death.
1:18.0	But you say it is all right for people to say to their parent,
1:20.0	sorry, I can't help you,
1:22.0	for I vowed to give to God what I would have
1:23.4	given to you.
1:24.5	In this way you say they don't need to honor their parents and so you cancel the word of
1:28.5	God for the sake of your own tradition.
1:30.9	You hypocrites, Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you. He wrote,
