It's another RIP moment

For Apple today. We have news and we're not really surprised about this because

It's been talked about I think maybe even

Maybe even as a couple episodes ago. We were checking this product on the website and wondering. Oh, yeah

Okay, they're still doing it. There's the ship in it

Because there was some curiosity around the future of it that product happens to be the

HomePod. This was the premium smart speaker offering. This is when we were talking about assistant versus Siri

And Apple's playing a smart speaker territory and how it hadn't really taken off like some of their other product segments

So the original home pod actually came out a little while ago, and then it didn't really get updated

We were also talking about products to purchase from Apple and other ones that were waiting for an update

Well, this is one of those that was waiting a really long time for an update so long

In fact that the speculation around his departure has been going on for a long time

Turns out it's hard to make a smart speaker and actually in Apple's case

It seems like when they get into speakers in general because they also had iPod specific speakers

I remember to hi-fi. Yeah, she's actually a pretty nice speaker. They get into speakers get out of speakers

This one sort of felt like it could hang around only because

of the insistence on figuring out

An assistant figuring out voice

You would think okay, you have a couple different products in a in the

Couple different products you can purchase that have these features in there that you can start to improve upon and become a part of

Part of people's lives

But even Google actually as far as the big speaker was concerned. I believe they got out of it too
