Sex. I'm sure that caught your attention. It usually does when it's talked about.

The act itself, it can be a deeply personal, enjoyable, and private experience.

It's a fundamental aspect of human existence. It can also be a very divisive topic when talked about openly or even behind closed doors.

The act, as well as the conversations about sex, can have psychological and social effects,

both good and bad, on those involved and those around it.

But emotions involved with sex aren't always positive.

Sexual assault can range anywhere from an unwelcome touch, a coerced sexual act, or a forced rape.

These crimes can have lasting effects on their victims in the form of anxiety, depression,

PTSD, physical injuries, and can move further than that with substance abuse, self-harm,

and difficulty with relationships.

And that's for the ones who, if you can say it like this,

are lucky enough to make it out alive.
