I have been a cardio queen.

This began back in the middle school years where I danced and danced and it continued on into college when I picked up running and then as a new mom and for many years as a mom I would push my kids in the Bob stroller for miles and miles. God bless them.

This was all until I was forced to have a complete life change and as part of that dramatically changed the way I exercised.

In my early 30s, thanks to childbirth, I had some major organ issues that prevented me from doing any high intensity exercise. I went from

running in the 20s or 30s of miles a week to not being able to do any of that.

And this is when I began to become interested in strength training, more because of necessity than even desire.

I began with just doing some bar workouts and gradually bought a couple light weights from Target and then my neighbor passed on some weights to me and I found some good strength training apps that gradually taught me how to even have good form and I've learned so much

over the years especially over the last I would say six years of exclusively

working out from home but I'm still trying to figure out a lot of this and also understand why it has such an impact on my health and my body especially as I age.
