A few weeks ago I attended my 20-year high school reunion, which is just nuts to say.

This was not a relaxing experience, in large part because I helped lead the planning of this reunion alongside a few amazing women.

We really pulled it off in basically a month.

So I mean, there's a long story behind why we had to do that, but we did it.

And even if I hadn't been the lead of the reunion,

it still would have been a very intense experience.

I don't know about you, but I find reun unions to be something that brings up a lot of feelings.

Many that can surprise even the most mature of adults, bringing up feelings like apprehension or stress, anxiety, and insecurity.

That last emotion in particular really crept up on me.

In the weeks preceding the reunion I found myself worrying over

wrinkles on my face, my now very dark hair. I used to be much more honey blonde when I was in high school just naturally. The night before I tried on several

outfits and I felt very uncertain over how momish I looked and then the day of even as I arrived to the school and we were just

there to set up before everyone got there I had to take a few minutes to do some

deep breathing to help me calm down and regulate these big swings of emotions

that were coming up for me and a lot of it was fear-based. But even then I knew something about this rise and insecurity I found

on myself and I was able to proceed with that knowledge in mind and it's the first of the three lessons I want to share with you from my 20 year

reunion. And that first thing I learned in the process of planning and then attending it is this. Number one, everyone feels insecure at times.
