And that's interesting because for a long time, Alexandria Acaccio-Cortez has told us that whiteness is to blame for all of the world's problems. It's white fragility. It's white privilege. It's the white oppressor. And now she's singing a different tune. She's saying what we've all been saying for quite some time, that race is socially constructed. When we look around and say black people, brown people,

white people, we are sharing a socially constructed idea that really has very little to do with the

backgrounds of these individuals, their values, their traditions, their experiences. And now when it's

convenient to her, whiteness is imaginary.
