Luke 12:35-40 - Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, 36 and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them. 38 If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them awake, blessed are those servants! 39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have left his house to be broken into. 40 You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

0:22.6	this series from Luke chapter 12, looking at how Jesus addresses the issue of anxiety,
0:28.8	how to encourage you, you can today get your mind aligned with Jesus' way of thinking
0:33.9	about this issue. And you can begin seeing a considerable and consistent victory in your
0:41.2	life over anxiety. These are practical sessions, and I want you to take it that way. One

1:19.1	verses 35 to 40. And I told you we're going to have a challenge today from Jesus himself
1:25.6	about how to address this issue of anxiety in our lives. He's already told us in the previous
1:32.4	verses in chapter 12 that anxiety comes from a lack of faith in God, not believing he is good,
1:39.5	and not believing he is working for your good. Anxiety also comes from a place of fear
1:47.6	where we don't really believe what he has told us about himself and we don't believe that he's
1:52.6	given us actually more than what we need and giving us his kingdom, which is this righteous
1:59.0	reign of Jesus that's growing and progressing throughout the world and we get to be part of it.
2:03.6	As citizens of his kingdom, he's going to care for us. Moving on in that vein, Jesus begins here
2:10.3	in verse 35 to give us some word pictures that are to serve us as mental attitudes that we are
2:17.4	to have. Ways of orienting our thinking were we're supposed to think of ourselves in these ways.
