So today, I'm thinking like, what do I want to focus on this week?

And it's something that is incredibly common.

Anxiety.

But not just anxiety.

Anxiety about anxiety.

And a lot of people will present to a clinician saying something like, I have anxiety. And a lot of people will present to a clinician saying something like, I have anxiety.

But I think what they're really describing is I have anxiety about having anxiety.

And it's such a common term to use. I wanted to just kind of break this down

because it can be incredibly debilitating at times

and result in a whole host of other potential psychiatric conditions.

So anxiety in and of itself is, one, it's expected.

It's adaptive and it's really a biological necessity.

We're designed to do one of two things.

We're designed to procreate and to survive.

So anxiety in and of itself is actually kind of our cognitive protection system.
