It is late September 2007.

I welcome Peter Berkowitz, writing his column for the Real Clear Politics.

Peter is at the Hoover Institution to get in our time machine and go to a lunch and

held late September 2007,

hosted by the President of Columbia University, Lee Bolinger,

and the guest of honor making a speech that was deliberately provocative

was the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ahmadinejad.

Peter, a very good evening to you. We begin 18 years ago,

because Mr. Bollinger is in the news again, talking about the conduct of many people, some of whom

were part of Colombia, some were outside, in 24, the spring of 24, which led to very profound remarks about anti-Semitism at Columbia and other major universities.

However, that was not isolated.

Now we've had another incident in the spring of 2025.

Students have been suspended.

Others have been questioned about their credibility with their visas. And many people are doubtful whether it's over at Columbia. It seems especially vulnerable,

even after all of the changes Columbia has been obliged to make since the 2024.

What did Lee Bollinger say in 2007?

he has been very much in charge of until these last years?
