Anthropics, Dario Amode and J.P. Morgan's Jamie Diamond, speaking at an anthropic event this hour.

Kate Rooney's been monitoring that for us. What do they say, Kate?

Carl, such a wide-ranging discussion between the CEOs of Anthropic and the CEO of J.P. Morgan.

Anthropics Amade first responded to the White House plans.

We have also reported to create a working group possible executive order as well to review AI models

before they're released. Amade has been a proponent of some guardrails, but he did push back on

the FDA as a framework for all of this. We don't want a Wild West where you can just do anything, right?

We chose to do what we did with mythos, but there was literally no law, no requirement, you know, preventing us from just offering this thing the while with no safeguard.

So that's not, yes. So that's not, that's not going to work. Now, the example you gave to the FDA, I think the FDA, you know, slows down medical progress a lot. So, you know, that's a

cautionary tale in the other direction. And guys, he said the automotive industry is actually what

AI should be aiming for in regulation, said if we slowed down that industry, it would be horrible

for the economy, but you can't just let people start car companies without making sure

there are brakes. So Anthropics mythos, of course, key in this discussion.

It was released, the cybersecurity model, I should say, to a handful of companies, Amadei,

saying that compute, rather, was not a constraint, calling that a misconception.

And Jamie Diamond, the CEO of J.P. Morgan, supporting the Mythos rollout, the gated rollout, as some have called it. He said, quote, mythos did exactly the right thing. Dario and Anthropic laid it out, gave people a chance to study it, as he put it, and then understand some of the vulnerabilities, come up with plans so that, quote, we can handle it. Finally, guys, the software cell off top of mind, Anthropics technology has been widely credited for some of the jitters around SaaS companies.

He did acknowledge that some companies could very well be in trouble depending on their existing mode.

I think individual SaaS companies, it's very possible for them to lose market value, go bankrupt, completely go bust.

But it depends on the response, right? I think their incumbents today that are going to see very clearly. We have a lot of moat here. The moats here are going

away. We're really going to pivot and we'll do better than we did before. And there are others who are

not going to pay attention, who are going to be blindsided,

and, you know, they're going to have a really bad time.
