The Lakers head back to L.A. split 1-1 against the Phoenix Suns following a 109-102 win in Game 2. After a listless series-opening loss, the Lakers looked much more like a team gunning to make some noise in the playoffs. In particular, three players under the microscope -- Anthony Davis, Dennis Schröder and Andre Drummond -- came up huge, and combined with strong defense and timely fourth quarter shots was enough to secure the victory. Frank Vogel changed the center rotation, playing Marc Gasol over Montrezl Harrell, and the decision paid off. The night wasn't perfect and there are still areas of concern, but it was nonetheless reassuring for the defending champs. Hosts: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: From the opening tip to the final buzzer, the Lakers played with far more energy, intensity and purpose than in Game 1. The difference was most evident defensively, always the backbone of this team at its best. In the meantime, Davis made good on his promise to rebound from his invisible Game 1 and put forth a monster performance. SEGMENT 2: Drummond and Schröder have, for various reasons, been lightning rods for criticism among fans. On Tuesday night, however, their presences were critical towards the win. For at least 48 hours, Laker Nation will be off their backs. SEGMENT 3: Despite the victory, it wasn't all sunshine and roses. LeBron James is clearly still hampered by a troublesome ankle.
