Summary

With Anthony Davis in foul trouble and LeBron James struggling in the fourth quarter, the Lakers didn't deserve to win Friday night in Philadelphia, but the Sixers tried really hard to give it to them, anyway. Unfortunately, they refused to accept, and lost 133-122 in overtime. Anthony Davis was incredible in the fourth quarter, but missed a free throw to win at the end of regulation. Austin Reaves missed a critical free throw down the stretch as well. And to their credit, the Lakers didn't quit when Philadelphia had a big lead with under a minute to play. But good teams accept gifts when they're given, and steal wins they shouldn't. If this team is supposed to be considered good, then the Lakers can't let games like this slip away. It was one of the strangest, most entertaining, and ultimately frustrating games the Lakers played in a while. And losing - the Lakers scored a grand total of two points in OT - even in a game where the Lakers fought admirably, ultimately hurts for a team trying to claw their way back into the Western Conference playoff race. And it puts a huge premium on winning in Detroit on Sunday. Before they left, a 3-3 trip seemed like a good result. It still can be, strange as the path to that destination has been. Alright, so LeBron James and Anthony Davis were both back in the lineup in the game

in Philadelphia on Friday and for a long time it looked like it wasn't going to matter

and then all of a sudden it looked like it did matter and then it didn't matter.

Again, the Lakers lose 133 to 122 and overtime in Philadelphia and it was a game that frankly

1:09.1

they did not deserve to win in regulation.

1:13.8

It was a game that Philadelphia really wanted to give them though and the Lakers just wouldn't

1:19.9

accept the gift and ultimately this turns into one of the more frustrating games, at least

1:24.4

from my perspective, that I've watched all year.

Yeah, Austin Reeves said after the game and Austin actually had a very good game.

He said, he's upset at himself because he missed a pretty critical free throw down the

stretch of the game but it was among a few mistakes he made in this game but he said afterwards

honestly we should have won this game and I was thinking to myself, I'm not even sure
