It's newsish with Betty.

I found this really sad survey, and it's all about making new friends.

So you remember back when MySpace was a big deal.

You had Tom. Who's your friend? And you had seven other friends that you could put in your top list.

You could actually rank your friends and you could change it whenever you want. Yeah, it started some feuds for sure.

Yeah. But nowadays, most of us might have a hard time finding even eight people to put on that list.

Many Americans admit that they haven't made a new friend in over a year.

I get that.

You do?

I actually do, too.

Yeah. I've made, oh, I've met this person at church and they're like, yeah, I see them and we talk on Sunday, but I don't, it's been a while since I've been like, oh, hey, we should hang out to someone new.

Okay. Interesting. Other, the same amount of people haven't been invited to a party in at least six months.

I get that. You get that too? Yeah, my circle of friends has gotten really smaller, the older I got.

And then some of them, like our best friends moved away.

And like we didn't replace them.

We didn't go out and go, oh, let's find two new best friends, you know, kind of thing. And so we just kind of just exist ourselves.

Right.
