My first instinct, of course, was to correct their error.

Better to tell the truth right away than have them find me out and get all pissed off at me for trying to fool them.

So I stepped further out of the tomb to give them a good look at who I really was.

I raised my hand.

I was about to say something like, no, sorry folks, silly mix up here, it's just me, Austin, lively.

I just put the Emperor's clothes on because I was cold. Sorry about the confusion.

But before I could say anything, a woman rushed out of the crowd.

A peasant woman, she looked like.

Plump and coarse faced, wearing a worn canvas shift.

I started back. I figured she was about to denounce me now that she'd had a closer look at my face.

But she dropped to her knees. She seized my left hand.
