Let's start to digest just a little bit what we saw on Sunday when the Patriots lost 20 to 17 to the Washington commanders.

Phil and I both thought this would happen.

My take on why it happened is the Patriots are the most impotent offensive team in the league.

They scored a touchdown thanks to a fumble recovery and a 25-yard touchdown strike.

Not what you'd call a sustained drive.

And then they got a 60-plus yard run from Ramonbury-Stevenson.

God bless him, they blocked it up and he took care of business after that.

But again, not a sustained drive.

The Patriots can't sustain drives because they don't have enough weaponry.

They got protection today, Phil.

But it's first down, second down, third down, first down, second down, third down, first down, second down, third down, first down, second down, third down,

punt eventually. So that's my take on what I saw. Phil, you felt that they were situationally stupid

once again. It's just hard to put it much differently. I think I said situationally inept. I just

had this where it just feels mean. I don't know. Inept is also not, not the nicest adjective.

But listen, you're four for 14 on third and fourth down combined.

So the type of series you just described would have been a win for them.

I mean, like they just, they don't have enough.
