Why do we cringe at old versions of ourselves?

Is growth embarrassing?

Would it be better that we were stagnant and exactly the same as we were before?

Because I think it's actually good that we've grown, you know?

And it's like normal that we feel distance from an old version of ourselves

because that means we've changed and evolved.

If you're just diving in to this episode, this is a

strange one to dive into. It's a very casual conversation with my dear friend, really family to me.

We call her my non-birth mom, Sasha Jones. And she's been on the podcast several times. She comes back

every year around my birthday and around the

podcast's birthday. I started this show in March of 2013, but we'll just say for ease that the podcast

and I share a birthday. But eight years of doing this podcast. Last year we around this time,

the 300th episode came out. So if you're new,

dive into the archive and we even have a podcast starter kit page that has different topics

and different things that we've covered over the years in a really cohesive place. So I'll put that

in the show notes. but this episode is different

than our normal interviews where I'm talking to someone new or I'm showcasing a friend of mine.

Sasha is a very close friend of mine. She's one of the most creative and wise and gentle people I

know and I love speaking with her.

And this annual catch-up that we have ends up being a time capsule of what we've both been learning through the past year, through both the episodes of this show.

I obviously record them and Sasha listens, which is so nice.
