Welcome to the After-On Podcast. I'm your host, Rob Reed.

0:14.0

And this is a series of conversations with thinkers, founders, and scientists.

0:18.0

Take a little time and stretch out, because these talks are unhurried and meant to bring you to a top percentile understanding of something important.

0:27.0

So, whether you're into start-ups or ideas, a techie or a lit major, take your time, engage your mind, and you'll be glad you did it.

0:37.0

Especially this week when we'll be talking to...

0:40.0

Me, Rob Reed, for something that's more of an announcement than an episode.

0:45.0

So I'm going to start by telling casual listeners, and particularly those who are tuning into this podcast for the first time,

0:51.0

that you'll probably want to skip this, and instead listen to the full episode, I posted just a few days ago, in which I interviewed a radically innovative DNA architect, named Floyd Roomsburg.

1:45.0

But if you're a patron, though you too, are of course free to go, you may want to listen to most of what follows.

1:53.0

Otherwise, the 32-minute long audio post that I just put up to the Patreon feed won't make a whole lot of sense to you.

2:01.0

So, for those who are still listening, a quick summary of what's ahead, I'm going to start with a seven or eight minute review of the podcast's situation.

2:09.0

Then the remaining handish minutes of this will be kind of like a mini episode, in which I'll explore a certain set of thoughts connected to science and tech that I've been working on for a while.

2:19.0

I expand on these significantly in the Patreon post I just mentioned, and we'll be expanding on them a lot more in the coming months.

2:27.0

Now, to begin with the podcast update.

2:29.0

As most of you probably remember, back in the winter, I solicited your help in keeping this thing viable.

2:35.0

Up until then, I'd done it strictly as a passion project with zero revenue model.

2:40.0

But that was unsustainable, and I wanted to get to a level where I could keep things going indefinitely.
