Hello, Kindred Spirits. This is the History Chicks recap of the Netflix series and with an E, episode 7, entitled Wherever You Are Is My Home,

which is, as usual, a quote from Jane Eyre. And this one's from chapter 22, if you're following along.

Jane's been away for a month and runs into Mr. Rochester on the way home. And the entire quote is, he says,

go up home and stay your little wandering feet at a friend's threshold, and she says, thank you for your great kindness.

I'm strangely glad to get back again to you, and wherever you are is my home, my only home.

That's really sweet, even if you don't read the whole book. Just that one quote is really sweet.

Although it's weird because he still thinks he's going to get married to somebody else. It's very stressful about that time in the story.

I think as regards to our story here, Matthew to Anne.

Well, everybody to green gables. Yeah, Matthew to Marilla.

With a tiny touch, I'd say of Gilbert and Anne, like an age appropriate.

And how about Jeannie and Matthew? Yeah, Matthew and everybody, huh?

I know he's like the center spoke of the wheel, whatever that's called. The center of the spokes.

The hub? The hub? Yes, you think it's going around Anne, but reality is going around Matthew.

This episode was directed by Amanda Tapping. And you know what I love about this whole series is that they were different directors for every episode.

That's pretty common for a TV show. Well, yeah, yes, it is. It's only seven episodes. I don't know.

I just love that they had a different look a little bit for every single one.

It's like having a bunch of different artists doing, you know, the similar painting.

Yeah, good. Anyway, she was raising Canada. She was an actress and a director for a very long time.

She had acted and directed in supernatural, which had a huge fandom, including my daughter. So that's pretty cool.

She's mostly known, though, as Samantha Carter on SG one and Stargate Atlantis, kind of 11 seasons worth of a mixed bag of that.

And then four seasons as Dr. Helen Magnus on sanctuary. So science fiction and fantasy seem to be her background as an actress.
