This episode is titled, Remorse is the Poison of Life. And as usual, that is a quote from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. The real quote, the expanded quote, is Mr. Rochester talking to Miss Jane Eyre.

Dread Remorse, when you're tempted to air, Miss Eyre, remorse is the Poison of Life. And then she says, back to him, repentance is said to be its cure, sir.

I think that's pretty directly related to our episode today.

Oh, I think so too. Although I have to say that putting air and air, one word apart, kind of messes me up.

I think in British English it would be err, tempted to err, Miss Eyre.

Oh my gosh, why don't we say that? Because it makes so much more sense, err, like when you screw up, err.

I actually subtitled this one, Paying the Price for Love.

As I see it, three main remorse is obviously a Marilla with regard to Mr. Blithe. I mean, I'm assuming you've seen this episode, so I'm not going to see spoiler alert before everything.

Mrs. Barry to Anne, which wouldn't be a love relationship exactly, although it is triggered by a love relationship and Anne to Gilbert.

So two out of three of these fall into the sorry too late to category.

And every one of these things that happens, if they didn't love the person involved so much, it wouldn't hurt so badly.

And plus it's a direct quote from the end of the show.

Right.

So this episode was directed by Paul Fox, who as a director, among other things directed a TV series called, and I'm going to spell it because if I say it, I'll have to believe it.

So I had never heard of it, but it's in its fourth season now. So I guess lots of people have heard of it. I just watched the pilot and I kind of love it.
